My work is rooted in a deep respect for cultural traditions and historical techniques, drawing inspiration from ancient forms, contemporary design and a personal love of cooking, hospitality, and creating a beautiful space to live in. After working in clay for 20 years, I opened Clay Fish Studio to continue evolving my craft. Most of my pieces are wheel-thrown and altered, using multiple decorating and layering techniques. Every piece I create brings me deep satisfaction when I feel it will bring beauty, function and grace to your life.
I’ve taken a 20-year deep dive into creating unique, contemporary and functional pieces that have been conceptualized through curious experimentation, employing various techniques that have been studied historically and developed by potters before me. My direction continues to be inspired by design, function, glazes and firing schedules from ancient antiquities dating back thousands of years.
